Sales Activities
CSA continued to develop sales activities in the global air transport market. Its sales activity started from fundamental preconditions: offered product and possibilities to use disposable distribution systems. A great amount of attention was especially paid to acquisition activity and the increasing of sales of the product through agencies. Based on the evaluation of obtained revenues from sales outside the Czech Republic it is possible to mark Great Britain, Germany and the USA as the main production areas. The most dynamic development was recorded in markets in Russia, Lithuania and the Ukraine.
Particular focus was placed on CSA's home market the Czech Republic, the results of which were positively reflected in a year-to-year increase of 8% in revenues. In 1997, the total sales in the Czech Republic represented 21% of the total volume of CSA sales.
Both Telephone Sales, to CSA's reservation department, and sales via Czech travel agencies increased dramatically during the year. Of the total CSA sales in the Czech Republic, 56% passengers utilised a travel agent and 44% utilised CSA's reservation and ticketing offices.
In the field of charter flights, CSA boasted a remarkable increase in revenues, in particular a 35.3% increase as compared to 1996.
