SA is well aware of the fact that flight operation and the activities connected with it, bring negative effects to the environment. Therefore, CSA is paying increased attention to this area.

The company is continuously monitoring possible negative influences in the areas of noise, water management, air protection and waste management.

CSA is devoted to the continuous improvement of the environment. 1998 was especially focused on preventive measures - which are the only possible method of achieving a constant decrease in the negative influences of flight operation on the environment.

Before the start of the winter season, CSA terminated operation of defreezing liquid storage facilities. Aircraft are now treated with this liquid only at a special area of the Czech Airport Authority.

The introduction of natural gas as a source of heating continued, on those premises of Prague-Ruzynì Airport owned and operated by CSA. The company also began introducing the operation of waste press units, aimed at the introduction of aircraft-waste sorting, comparable with systems required at some European airports.
